Art Center presents the life of Annie Liebovitz

Art Historian and Lecturer Tess Wright will present “Annie Liebovitz: A Life in Focus” Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Art Center Morro Bay.
Liebovitz is a critically acclaimed photographer who is a Designated Living Legend by the Library of Congress. Her photographs of individuals and artists in contemporary life and her novel approach to photojournalism has revolutionized the realm of photography.
Through creative interviewing sessions with her subjects and the use of unique setups and lighting, Liebovitz has captured the essence of actors, writers, public figures, stage and screen stars and garnered widespread acclaim in the United States and internationally.
Utilizing her master’s degree in art history and design and with an equivalent degree in psychology, presenter Tess Wright performed research that centered on artistic content as well as the artist’s life experiences. Wright’s passion to explore and share the personal lives and relationships that influence the artist’s work has led her to develop a variety of lectures on women artists, artist couples, and women in Surrealism. She is currently performing research on the friendships and rivalries of notable artists such as Matisse and Pablo Picasso.
